    Sue is an expert clinician, educator, and leader in perinatal nursing. She has spent more than 30 years at the bedside and in the advanced practice role. When Sue began her nursing career, she started as an officer in the US Army Nurse Corps. As a military nurse, part of her training included education that focused on the history and threat of chemical and biological agent use, the characteristics of threat agents, the pathophysiology and treatment of agent exposure, and the principles of field management to treat threat agent casualties. She is a doctorally prepared clinical nurse specialist and certified in neonatal nursing and as a breastfeeding counselor.
