INSTRUCTOR
Filissa M Caserta MSN, ACNP-BC, CNRN is a certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and Neuroscience Registered Nurse who has worked in the field of Neurosciences, specifically Neuro-critical Care and Endovascular Neurosurgery in various capacities for most of her 37 year nursing career. In addition to her role as Nurse Practitioner, Filissa has held positions as Nurse Manager, Adjunct Faculty at The Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing and Program Director for Nursing Practice. She obtained her BSN from The State University of New York at Binghamton and her MSN-Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from The Johns Hopkins University. She enjoys setting up new programs and helped pioneer the first Neuroscience Critical Care Unit of the Pacific at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu, HI and instituted the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program for The Johns Hopkins Hospital Neuroscience Critical Care Unit. She has contributed to a wide variety of academic publications on neurocritical care and advanced practice nursing.
Filissa has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally on a variety of neuroscience topics including Neuro Anatomy and Assessment, Neurologic Emergencies, Perioperative Care of the Neuroscience Patient and End of Life Care in Neurocritical Care. Other lecture topics include Setting up a Safe Nursing Practice Program, Self-care for the Caregivers and Success Tips for Creating the Nursing Career and Life of your Dreams.
