Speaker Bio
Abigail Mawhirter is a bedside nurse, Charge nurse, and clinical coach for new nurses, as well as a member of several shared governance nursing councils in the hospital for which she works. She has spent her entire 10-year nursing career in the specialty field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, which she feels is a field that truly focuses on making patients thrive, not just keeping patients alive. She is a certified rehabilitation nurse, having earned her CRRN in 2017, and is an active member of the national Association of Rehabilitation Nurses (ARN). She loves to spread her passion of rehab nursing through presentations and is a self-proclaimed "conference junkie," having presented at the annual ARN conference every year since joining in 2018, as well as presenting at the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine Conference and in several Texas nursing school programs. Above all, Abigail enjoys using nursing as a way to spread sunshine and hope to others.
