Billy Rosa, PhD, MBE, ACHPN, FAANP, FAAN, Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Psycho-Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and Betty Ferrell, PhD, RN, FPCN, FAAN, Director and Professor of the Division of Nursing Research and Education at the City of Hope and Principal Investigator of the End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC), described the role of all nurses in alleviating health-related suffering during COVID-19 and beyond. This discussion addressed how to integrate palliative care throughout nursing specialties in the context of COVID-19 and at the end of life with considerations for nurses, advanced practice nurses, and nurse leaders. Implications for local and global action were addressed to achieve patient-identified goals through the lens of palliative nursing.
